Turning up the heat another notch.
I’ve been playing a bit of catch-up of late on here.
These images were created this past October when Samantha was in the area visiting. We’ve worked together a few times over the years and each time has been more amazing than the rest. This year, we kept it a little more low key than usual as I was still working out the kinks with the new lights, using the apartment as a studio, et cetera.
That isn’t to say that we didn’t capture some amazing images. We certainly did that. In fact we charted new territory with the candle work. I had quite the collection of them with the recent storms and had lit a few just to add to the atmosphere. She saw them and was drawn to them like a moth to the proverbial flame.
I’ve entered a stage of experimentation. I’m going back and polishing off some old studio tricks and updating them while also exploring new avenues of lighting and expression. I realize some of the upcoming images may push the boundaries of PG but art is supposed to be daring. It’s supposed to push you into unfamiliar places – both as an artist and as a viewer.
I just wanted to give you a heads up.
