The event was put on by lela.smith.photography, was held at DisheveledDecor, and featured several outstanding local models and photographers.
I know, I know, it’s been a minute. To say that the last nine months have been unusually eventful would be a massive understatement. Maybe I’ll write about them. Right now I just want to show some images I captured during Lela Smith’s recent Midsummer Night Shoot-Out at Disheveled Decor.
Believe it or not, this was the first time I’ve ever attended such a thing. I’m definitely in the 1 photog+ 1 model = photoshoot mindset. That being said, after months of inactivity, I figured it was time to shake myself out of my self-imposed shut down and clear some cobwebs off my gear.
I couldn’t be happier with the results. The crew of talent that came together worked well together. Egos were checked at the garden gate door and everyone were unified in the belief that everyone would get a chance to work with everyone else. Sadly, there were a few models that I didn’t get to but I hope to rectify that in the near future.
Now the theme of the session was fantasy and I will be the first to admit I’m totally clueless when it comes to this genre. However, the models took pity on me and allowed me to do my thing when we teamed up which was amazing.
They were all done up in amazing outfits and their hair and makeup were immaculate which makes the job of any photographer infinitely easier. Major, major kudos go to all involved. I cannot sing their praises high enough.
