About Me.

Photography should feel empowering – not intimidating.

Photography has been a huge part of my life for over 40 years. Long before digital cameras, social media, and smartphones, I was learning how light, timing, and human connection could turn an ordinary moment into something worth remembering on film.

I know most people are not completely comfortable in front of a camera. Honestly, that is normal. Whether you are booking a professional headshot, personal branding session, family portrait, senior photos, commercial photography, or just want photographs that actually feel like you, my job is to make the process relaxed, collaborative, and surprisingly enjoyable.

I do not believe in forcing people into awkward poses or giving everyone the same cookie cutter session. Every person, family, business, and project is different. My approach changes to fit your personality, comfort level, goals, and style.

My background is a little different than most photographers. Along with decades of professional photography experience, I have spent years teaching photography at the college level and currently work as a photographer at a national air and space agency. Teaching shaped how I communicate with people. I explain things clearly, help clients relax, and guide sessions without turning them into uncomfortable productions.

One of the things I love most about photography is that no two days look exactly the same. I might spend one day creating personal branding portraits for a business owner in Richmond and the next photographing a sunrise session in Virginia Beach, a fitness shoot in Chesapeake, teaching a private photography lesson in Williamsburg, or working on a fashion session in Norfolk.

No matter the subject, my philosophy stays the same. The most important part of any camera has never been the camera itself. It is the brain, creativity, and emotion behind it.

Photography is about people and connection. It’s about preserving milestones, building confidence, documenting change, supporting businesses, and creating images that still mean something years from now.
