When I signed up for a shoot I was petrified. I was nervous, shaking and had no idea what to do. You patiently coached me through it and by the end I was doing poses which came natural to me.

I have never been happy with the way I’ve looked but I have an indescribable passion for life and that is what you managed to capture. With other clients however, you capture their passion for modeling, their love for each other, their carefree nature etc.

Working with Mark is great; he is very professional and knows how to make you feel comfortable. He pushes you out of your comfort zone to try new and better things. Always giving compliments while shooting really boosts your esteem and makes you want to keep going. If you are stuck and need help finding new poses he will guide you through and if an angle you choose doesn’t fit he’ll take the picture and let you see why it doesn’t work. We had the pleasure of using Mark for our wedding and our post wedding photos. His professionalism was only outdone by his crisp photos and attention to detail. I will treasure the family photo Mark Knopp took of me and my three children forever. Mark is a true professional and has the eye. Working with Mark Knopp is only half the experience. He makes it a learning experience in his own way teaching you through experience to better the outcome. And the outcome to say the least is phenomenal. The lighting even in an outdoor setting moved to just inside a tunnel hits just perfect to light up all the contours of a person’s face and body. As someone who enjoys and is gaining experience in modeling but is still not entirely comfortable in front of the camera, it is a pleasure working with Mark for a variety of reasons. He makes it clear that there is no rush to get that perfect shot. The atmosphere with him is very laid back and comfortable, and makes it very easy and enjoyable to be in front of the camera. Because I’m still learning, he offers friendly suggestions and lets me go at my own pace. Going with the flow is one of the most important factors in any shoot, and that is one of the many things that Mark is a veteran at. He is very open to new ideas, adjusting to circumstances and allows me to try or veto ideas which makes me feel like a rock star. Although in that regard, I haven’t done a shoot with him yet that didn’t leave me feeling like a rock star. Despite being very new to the modeling scene, I can say without a doubt that that is one thing I would want out of any photographer. It’s definitely a great feeling going into a shoot cautiously, and leaving feeling like, “Bring it, Marylin.” I never settle for less than the best, and Mark meets that standard every time! – Lindsey H.

On Teaching:

Mark Knopp’s off camera lighting workshop exceeded my expectations and was indeed the most rewarding and memorable workshop I have ever attended. He kept it simple and he kept it real. I had an absolutely fantastic time.

Mark is a superb photographer and also an excellent teacher. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about photography. I returned home with far greater camera skills and some of the best photographs I’ve ever taken. I highly recommend Mark’s workshops for anyone interested in improving their photography skills. I recently took a beginners photography class with Mark Knopp. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Coming into the class having no knowledge of how to use anything other than a “point and shoot” camera, I thought I would be at a disadvantage. I was extremely happy to find out that was not the case. Mr. Knopp was very helpful and took his time answering all of my questions. His handouts were clear and concise and I have referred back to them on more than one occasion. I particularly enjoyed the weekly assignments where we would put into practice the skill we learned. The feedback he provided on those assignments was much appreciated. I have been using all of the instruction and tips I learned to pursue my love of photography.
