A rare text-only entry.

Help me become stronger.

So I’ve been revamping a lot lately. My shooting style, my editing techniques, how I create blog entries, marketing, et cetera. One of the things I love about photography is that it’s ever-evolving and ever-changing. You have to stay up to date or risk falling by the wayside. There’s always new gear, new techniques, new ways to market yourself.

What works for one person doesn’t work for another, to be sure. However, this game changes so much that what worked last year, heck even six months ago, doesn’t always work today. Social media is a prime example of this. Snapchat didn’t exist a couple years ago. Nowadays it’s touted as one of the most effective ways to reach new viewers. What worked a few years ago has fallen into disfavor today. What works today might not even exist in a couple years.

I received an email from a fellow photographer earlier this week. He complimented me on my blog entries and said they were well done. I thanked him profusely for taking the time to write to me and letting me know that I was doing something right. That simple thing made my day.

Which brings me to the reason for this entry. I want to hear from you, Constant Viewer. I want to know what you find interesting. I want to know what you want to see more of – not only in terms of images but also blog entries. What would you like to learn more of? What inspires you or would inspire you? What do you find valuable about this blog? What would you suggest to make it stronger?

Please take a few moments to click on “Leave Reply” and leave a comment or 3. I seriously would love to hear from you. Help make me better.

Mark

    Hi Mark!

I haven’t really been following the blog much, but I do follow on Facebook and now SnapChat. I know you generally post images from current shoots and things, but I didn’t know if you had a tips and tricks section. Maybe that could spark interest from new viewers and other fellow photographers. Maybe a weekly tip or trick of the trade you find useful or possible an experiment with one you’ve just learned. That could be interesting. 🙂

Thank for taking the time to read this and respond. I love your suggestion and could certainly incorporate a weekly tip/insight section 🙂
